Horse racing in Sumatra is bareback and jockeys are dressed in the traditional costume of their region or village,Horse race is one of the most popular traditional sports in West Sumatra,Payakumbuh city is famous for the producer of high quality horses not only in west sumatra but also in Indonesia.
3.Tabut Festival.
The highlight of the West Sumatra cultural calendar is the colourful islamic festival of Tabut,staged at the seaside town of Pariaman.
4.Paragliding and Tourism Swimming Contest
This event is the most current yearly agenda from the pesisir selatan Regency Goverment under the coordination of its Tourism Office.this location are recreational area with beautiful view,white sand and clear water.Paragliding is one branches of Aero sport which can be done by using a parachute which is a same kind of parachute for jumping,but the shape and the design is different,so it has different character with parachute jumping that is done from the airplane.Paragliding is being done from plane more like parachute jumping as well as by running from the valley or the mountain where the land is free from
obstacles such as trees.
